Energy Recovery just locked in a lease for its first manufacturing plant near Dammam Second Industrial City. The facility will fire up in 2027 and build the flagship PX Pressure Exchanger right where the world’s biggest desalination market lives.
This move puts production closer to customers who depend on reliable water every day. As a result, the company strengthens its global footprint while creating skilled local jobs that support Saudi talent.
Moreover, the 3,750-square-meter site will handle machining, assembly, and testing for the Middle East and North Africa. In addition, it advances Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals for industrial localization and water security. Interim CEO Alex Buehler calls geographic diversity a linchpin of the strategy, and local leaders welcome the investment as a boost to national capabilities.
Energy Recovery already helps clean 43.6 million cubic meters of water daily—roughly 17,000 Olympic pools—while saving customers $7.2 billion in energy costs each year. Consequently, this new base delivers affordable water and reduced emissions even faster across the Kingdom and beyond.
