Turning Waste Into Power
OSAKA, Japan—Kanadevia Inova AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kanadevia Corporation, has signed a 33.5-year concession agreement for a major waste-to-energy project in Casablanca, Morocco. Together with Nareva and ITOCHU Corporation, Inova will build and operate the facility near Médiouna landfill.
The plant will process about 1.5 million tonnes of waste annually and generate approximately 126 MWe. Moreover, solar power, landfill gas recovery, and leachate treatment will strengthen its environmental impact.
A Cleaner Tomorrow
Expected to start operations in June 2030, the facility could generate around 1 TWh yearly. Additionally, future CCUS technology could further reduce emissions, supporting Casablanca’s long-term decarbonization goals.
