Eni, in partnership with the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) through the Mellitah Oil & Gas joint venture, announces the successful start-up of hydrocarbon production. They installed a massive 1,600-ton compression module on the Sabratha platform.
This powerhouse delivers about 440 MMscfd capacity, so operators now tackle low-pressure conditions easily. As a result, they offset the natural decline of the Bahr Essalam field and boost recovery big time.

Moreover, this adds roughly 800 million cubic meters of gas per year plus condensate. Consequently, the project sustains national power generation, strengthens energy security, and keeps exports flowing to Italy via the Greenstream pipeline.
