**CAIRO** – XCMG is supporting construction of Capital Diamond Tower in the Central Business District of Egypt's New Administrative Capital. At roughly 234 meters, it's set to become Africa's tallest twisting mixed-use high-rise.
Picture a skyscraper that rotates at a fixed angle on every floor. That's Capital Diamond Tower. Its silhouette is gradually taking shape as construction advances.
However, this design isn't easy to build. Each floor's offset forces crews to recalculate lifting plans, layouts, transport routes, and anchorage points.
To tackle these challenges, XCMG deployed an integrated "one crane, one hoist" solution. The XGT6515B-10S1 flat-top tower crane uses an internal climbing system and handles heavy lifting of core structural components.
Meanwhile, the SC200/200MS1 construction hoist moves personnel and materials vertically. It reaches 63m/min and will stand 230 meters tall upon final installation.
As floors climb higher, demand for vertical transport keeps growing. Fortunately, the equipment meets the site's needs, according to the project manager. In addition, XCMG's service team provides continuous on-site support throughout construction.
Looking ahead, lessons from this project will inform XCMG's solutions for other complex high-rise builds. Clearly, the twist is only the beginning.
