9/9 at 9: Riyadh's Robots Are About to Throw Down

The Big Announcement

Get ready, because robots are stepping into the ring. Hero Esports, Asia's largest esports company, just unveiled CyberHero, and it's launching in a big way. On 9 September 2026, Riyadh will host the Middle East's first humanoid robot kickboxing event.

CEO Danny Tang shared the news at LEAP, and honestly, the timing feels perfect. He explained that Riyadh sits at the crossroads of East and West, making it the natural place to kick things off.

Meet the Fighters

So who's actually fighting? Ten EngineAI T800 humanoid robots will step into a purpose-built arena. Standing about 1.73 meters tall, these bots move like real athletes.
With 29 articulated joints, they can punch, kick, sprint, and even recover after a fall. Consequently, the September showdown will test their balance, reflexes, and strategy under real combat pressure.

More Than a Match

This isn't just a fight night, though. Music, lighting, and a live DJ set will turn the two-hour event into a full sensory experience.

Meanwhile, doors open at 8:30 PM, building anticipation before the 9 PM kickoff. It's spectacle first, sport second.

Building Bridges Beyond the Ring

Beyond the arena, Hero Esports is launching the CyberHero Saudi–China Scholar Program. Up to 30 Saudi students will travel to China, exploring its robotics ecosystem firsthand.

Ultimately, Tang hopes these exchanges spark lasting collaboration between young innovators in both countries.
