In a significant stride towards environmental sustainability, Tanmiah Food Company ("Tanmiah"), a market leader in the poultry and meat products sector, has announced the deployment of 100% electric trucks in its logistics and distribution operations. This initiative, which introduces the Kingdom's first fully refrigerated electric truck for local Fresh Chicken transportation, underscores Tanmiah's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing operational efficiency.
Pioneering Sustainable Logistics in Riyadh
Located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Tanmiah has strategically implemented these electric trucks, powered by cutting-edge Quantron zero-emission technology. This innovation aligns seamlessly with national and global climate objectives. The trucks boast an impressive range, capable of traveling up to 240 kilometers on a single charge. To further support their autonomous operations, Tanmiah has developed dedicated infrastructure at its Riyadh facilities, ensuring a robust foundation for this green initiative. Notably, these vehicles operate silently, making them an ideal solution for night deliveries in urban areas facing movement restrictions.
The introduction of this electric fleet was celebrated at a grand inauguration event, attended by dignitaries including Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Shaikhi from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, along with Tanmiah’s executive leadership team. Group CEO Mr. Zulfiqar Hamadani emphasized the company's dedication to sustainable practices, stating that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to minimize pollution and contribute to a greener Saudi Arabia, in line with the Vision 2030 National Transformation Program.
A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability
Tanmiah's 100% Electric Trucks Project exemplifies the company's unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability. With each 4-ton electric truck projected to prevent approximately 95 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, the environmental benefits are substantial. This reduction equates to the carbon footprint of 25 Saudi residents' transportation emissions, highlighting the initiative's potential impact on air quality and public health.
Moreover, the electric trucks not only enhance delivery efficiency but also optimize Tanmiah's distribution network. As CEO of ADC (Tanmiah's Poultry Division), Marcos Delorenzo remarked, this project ensures timely deliveries while promoting cleaner transportation methods. By championing such eco-friendly solutions, Tanmiah aims to inspire others within the region to adopt sustainable practices, thus fostering a collective effort to combat climate change.
Tanmiah Food Company is at the forefront of integrating sustainability into its operations. The launch of electric trucks is a significant milestone in the company's journey towards carbon-neutral operations and a cleaner environment. By aligning its efforts with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives, Tanmiah continues to set a precedent for responsible resource use and sustainable food security, driving the region towards a greener future.
