Transforming Healthcare: PureHealth’s Remarkable First Half of 2025

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, few entities have made as significant an impact as PureHealth Holding PJSC. Based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, PureHealth stands out as the largest healthcare group in the Middle East. Recently, the organization announced its robust financial results for the first half of 2025, showcasing a commendable 9% year-on-year increase in revenue, reaching AED 13.6 billion. This impressive growth reflects a strategic alignment of their Healthcare (Care) and Insurance (Cover) verticals, which together drive PureHealth's mission of delivering integrated healthcare solutions.

The increase in revenue is not merely a numerical achievement; it signifies a broader transformation within the organization. Specifically, PureHealth has refined its operational model by consolidating its diverse offerings into two core verticals: Care and Cover. The Care vertical encompasses a range of services, including Hospitals, Procurement, Diagnostics, and Technology, while Cover focuses on insurance operations. This strategic restructuring enhances the group’s ability to provide coordinated and value-driven services, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care aligned with their insurance coverage. As a result, PureHealth has established itself as the only entity in the MENA region to offer both healthcare and insurance services under one roof, providing investors with clearer insights into the group's performance.

A Vision for the Future: Leadership Insights

The leadership at PureHealth is equally optimistic about the future. H.E. Kamal Al Maazmi, Chairman of PureHealth, emphasized that the company’s remarkable performance during the first half of 2025 exemplifies its commitment to building a technologically advanced and human-centered healthcare ecosystem. Al Maazmi noted, “By aligning innovation with national priorities and international partnerships, we are not only expanding access to care but also reshaping how health is delivered, experienced, and sustained.” This vision underscores PureHealth’s dedication to not only enhance healthcare access but also to redefine the healthcare experience for patients across the region.

Similarly, Shaista Asif, the Group Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the solid growth across both verticals. She stated, “Our entry into the Property & Casualty segment through Daman strengthens our ability to offer comprehensive, multi-line coverage.” Under her leadership, PureHealth is prioritizing technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence, to improve healthcare delivery. As the company expands its global footprint, it remains focused on delivering enhanced health outcomes and transforming the assets within its portfolio.

PureHealth's strong financial performance and strategic initiatives showcase its commitment to revolutionizing healthcare in the Middle East and beyond. By integrating care and coverage, leveraging technology, and expanding its international presence, PureHealth is not merely responding to the current healthcare demands; it is proactively shaping the future of health. Transforming Global Health: A Groundbreaking Partnership Between Abu Dhabi and Sanofi

In an era defined by rapid advancements in healthcare and biotechnology, Abu Dhabi stands at the forefront of innovation and collaboration. Recently, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) formalized a significant partnership with Sanofi, a leading biopharmaceutical company renowned for its commitment to research and development. This collaboration, unveiled at the prestigious BIO International Convention 2025 in Boston, USA, aims to revolutionize vaccine development and manufacturing capabilities in the UAE and beyond.

A Vision for Health Security

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between DoH and Sanofi marks a pivotal moment in the pursuit of global health security. This agreement, officiated by Dr. Asma Al Mannaei, Executive Director of the Health Life Sciences Sector at DoH, and Baptiste de Clarens, General Manager Greater Gulf, Vaccines at Sanofi, signifies a mutual commitment to harness advanced technologies and data-driven insights for expedited vaccine development.

Dr. Al Mannaei emphasized the transformative potential of this partnership, stating, "DoH is partnering with Sanofi to expedite the development of new global vaccines. This initiative aims to shorten the timeline from early research to public availability by utilizing advanced technologies, real-time data analysis, and conducting parallel clinical trial phases." By leveraging Abu Dhabi's robust research infrastructure alongside Sanofi's scientific expertise, the partnership aims to set new standards for resilience and innovation in healthcare.

Moreover, this collaboration is not merely a local endeavor; it aspires to position Abu Dhabi as a global hub for biopharmaceutical innovation. The strategic goal is to enhance regional capabilities in vaccine manufacturing, thereby addressing pressing health challenges on a global scale. As the world grapples with emerging infectious diseases, such partnerships become increasingly vital to safeguarding public health.

Streamlining Processes for Enhanced Impact

The collaboration between DoH and Sanofi extends beyond vaccine development; it encompasses a comprehensive approach to healthcare resilience. Both entities will work collaboratively to streamline regulatory processes, enhance manufacturing preparedness, and foster knowledge sharing between local and international experts. This holistic approach aims to optimize resource allocation and establish foundational terms for funding and access to innovative healthcare solutions.

Baptiste de Clarens articulated the significance of this partnership by noting, "The Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi marks an encouraging step towards advancing global health security while reflecting our shared interest in addressing global health challenges through scientific partnership." By bridging the gap between scientific research and practical application, this agreement promises to pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in healthcare delivery.

Furthermore, the initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's long-term vision of establishing itself as a leader in bio- and pharmaceutical innovation. The emirate's commitment to advancing technology-driven healthcare solutions underlines its dedication to improving community health and contributing to global health security.

A Strategic Mission to Foster Innovation

In conjunction with the MoU, a high-level delegation from DoH embarked on a strategic mission to the United States from June 15 to 21, 2025. This delegation comprises key stakeholders from Abu Dhabi's innovation ecosystem, including representatives from the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Mubadala BIO, M42, Masdar City, KEZAD, PureHealth, New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), Khalifa University, and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).

The mission encompasses over 20 strategic meetings and visits with leaders from both public and private sectors across the U.S. The primary objectives are knowledge exchange, exploration of investment opportunities, and the establishment of new agreements aimed at accelerating the adoption of advanced health solutions. This proactive approach reflects Abu Dhabi's commitment to fostering global partnerships that leverage shared expertise to address critical healthcare challenges.

A New Era of Healthcare Innovation

The partnership between the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Sanofi signals the dawn of a new era in healthcare innovation. By combining advanced research capabilities with a commitment to global health security, both entities are poised to make a profound impact on vaccine development and healthcare delivery. As they work collaboratively to enhance resilience and sustainability in healthcare, Abu Dhabi is set to emerge as a beacon of innovation, attracting global attention and investment in the biopharmaceutical sector.
