The Buzz in Muscat

MUSCAT, Oman, recently buzzed with exciting energy as leaders from the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran sat down for crucial talks. During the visit of H.E. Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and H.E. Dr. Abbas Araghchi, they met with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Oman's Foreign Minister. Moreover, the conversation flowed smoothly, with Oman proudly reaffirming support for the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

They emphasized keeping dialogue alive to make it a real success, building stronger ties every step of the way.

Navigating the Hormuz Future Together

As coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz, both nations actively reaffirmed their commitment to safe passage under international law. They discussed key matters relating to the Strait of Hormuz while respecting sovereignty over territorial waters.

Additionally, they agreed to launch a joint working group between foreign ministries. This group will tackle future navigation administration, services, and costs. They even plan broader chats with other littoral states, ensuring everything honors the two coastal powers.

The Global Shock Hits Hard

Wow, the recent conflict in the Gulf has become a whole-economy shock with consequences reaching far beyond energy markets. Crescent Petroleum CEO Majid Jafar dropped serious truth bombs at the Petro Diplomacy 2026 conference in Washington. Moreover, he explained how the Strait of Hormuz disruption affects everything we rely on daily.

Resilience Wins the Future

Next, Jafar highlighted smart moves like building new routes and storage. Therefore, companies thrive by creating local value instead of just exporting. Active players invest in redundancy now, turning challenges into lasting opportunities for everyone.
